My Starsky And Hutch Car

The Starsky and Hutch car you see above was an anniversary present from my Alex in 1976. Of course I was the envy of all my friends :). The most important thing that car did was help me teach my children to use their seat belts. By this I mean whenever they got into the car with me, I'd say "fasten your seat belts". After awhile, I got tired of having to remind them all the time, so I'd watch and say nothing, and start driving on down the road, Then I'd hit the brake right hard, (just enough to scare the crap out of them) and ask if they wanted another "SAMPLE" you can't imagine how fast those little hands found those seat belt straps, and the clicks I would hear. Even had to give my Mom a little Sample once or twice.

Another Little Starsky Story
My daughter (Margaret) is not a driver, so she really has no knowledge of cars, except if they have a driver, they'll take you where ever you want to go. The car had a buzzer that let me know the doors were not closed. At one point I must have touched the cigarette lighter at the same time I closed my car door which of course closing the door would have stopped the buzzer. I noticed that every time we'd get into the car, Margaret always reached over and touched the cigarette lighter, we'd fasten up and off we'd go. Now this went on for months and my curiosity finally got the best of me. One day I asked her why she always touched the cigarette lighter, she said "To stop that annoying buzzing sound". I didn't think I'd ever stop laughing. When I finally was able to regain myself and tell her what that "BUTTON" was, she just turned all different shades of red. She still turns red when I tell people that story.
